Olivia Rodrigo is in charge of the Billboard Global 200 chart this week, proving once again that she is one of the most popular singers in the world just a few months into her career as a pop star. As the teen sensation conquers the all-genre ranking, musicians like Nicki Minaj, J. Cole and Drake all manage to debut several tracks on the tally.
Here’s a look at five of the hottest debuts on this week’s Billboard Global 200 songs chart.
No. 1 - Olivia Rodrigo - “Good 4 U”
One week ahead of her first album Sour arriving on charts all around the world, Rodrigo’s latest single “Good 4 U” debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, bringing her back to the highest space on the tally. The cut marks her second champion on the list, and she now stands out as just the third musician to reach the throne more than once, joining BTS and Ariana Grande in that feat.
No. 18 - Nicki Minaj - “Seeing Green (ft. Lil Wayne & Drake)”
As her mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty, which is now more than a decade old, finds its way to charts everywhere, several tracks Nicki Minaj added to the collection also make impressive appearances on the Billboard Global 200, as fans rushed to hear something brand new over older cuts. Leading the way on the worldwide ranking this time is “Seeing Green,” which opens at No. 18 on the tally, thanks in part to the fact that it also credits hip-hop superstars Lil Wayne and Drake.
No. 97 - Aespa - “Next Level”
South Korean girl group Aespa is back on the Billboard Global 200 with their new single “Next Level,” which narrowly breaks into the top 100, bringing them to the upper half of the ranking for the first time. With a second placement on the roster, Aespa becomes just the third girl group from their home country to reach the list more than once.
No. 120 - Katy Perry - “Electric”
No, Katy Perry doesn’t have a new album coming...at least not that she’s mentioned. The pop star and new mom dropped the single “Electric” a little over a week ago as part of a new anniversary collection being compiled by the brand Pokemon. Perry is the latest musician to take part in the campaign, following in Post Malone’s footsteps.
No. 180 - Drake - “Best I Ever Had”
Drake collects more than one new hit on the Billboard Global 200 this week, as his breakout smash “Best I Ever Had” finally reaches the relatively new list more than a decade after it first conquered charts all around the world. The tune arrives at No. 180, giving the Canadian rapper his sixteenth placement on the roster.
