Does your home bar need a makeover? How about your best friend, sister, brother, father, mentor, mother, coach, etc.?
Maker’s Mark has teamed up with Orlando Soria, designer and television personality, to makeover the home bars for one lucky person and a person he or she consists remarkable.
This bourbon maker’s contest is called the Remarkable Home Bar giveaway.
“The (contest) was created to inspire drinkers to participate in more mindful at-home happy hours, something we at Maker’s Mark refers to as ‘Maker’s Hour,’” says a whiskey spokeswoman, adding that on social media it is referred to as #MakersHour.
“We’ve spent the last 365-plus days drinking at home, and while we’re excited to return to sitting at a bar, at-home drinking is here to stay so you might as well perfect your bar space for hone your friends inevitably come over for a drink,” she adds.
To win a home bar makeover for yourself and that special someone, head to Twitter and enter the contest. In 280 words or less, tag someone, tag @MakersMark to tell them why this person is special to you and what makes them a remarkable person, and, of course, use the hashtag, #MakersHour. Both you and your remarkable person have to be at least 21 years of age to win the contest.
If you win, you and your special person will each get a new home bar. The home bars will each have bar seating for up to four guests, gorgeous bottle displays, accent pieces, functional drinks equipment and perfect lighting - in other words, the “perfect setting” for a “perfect Maker’s Hour,” she says.
“Good interior design in any room is about creating a space that makes you feel that you’re living your best life,” says Soria. “I want to use these designs to help whisky drinkers connect with each other in their homes in the same way they would at a high-end bar.”
The designs of each home bar will be one of a kind, but they will be designed to mirror each other with a cohesive aesthetic so that you and your person can share a drink together physically or virtually. “What makes a home cocktail hour most enjoyable isn’t just about what’s in your glass,” says Rob Samuels, eighth generation whisky maker and managing director of Maker’s Mark. “It’s all about the personal details, from the space where you’re enjoying it to the company you’re enjoying it with.”
The contest runs through June 9 so Twitter nominations need to be made by then.
