Chapter 2, Season 2 of Fortnite was one of the best seasons ever. It had a really cool spy vs spy theme, pitting two factions—Ghost and Shadow—against one another. It introduced some really cool NPC bosses and enemies, telephone booths where you could disguise yourself as said NPCs, and a bunch of cool locations to explore.
The whole feel of that season was great. The James Bond music, the sense that the community could impact the map as the season progressed, the whole Doomsday Device story. All of it was so great, that simply being reminded of it kind of makes me sad. Season 6—the Primal season—is a pale shadow by comparison.
But Epic Games insists on reminding us of the game’s former glory in the Season 6, Week 11 challenges. We are tasked with visiting Ghost and Shadow ruins—the last remaining remnants of the once proud season—in order to gain 24,000 XP.
There are only three Ghost and Shadow locations remaining on the map. Here’s where to visit each one:
As you can see, the three locations are:
- The former Shark base up in the northwest corner of the map just north of the lovely-but-lackluster Coral Castle.
- The old entrance to the Grotto south of Dirty Docks and north of Retail Row.
- The easy-to-forget yet still mysterious vault door just southeast of Catty Corner. This has been with us for some time now but never opened. Curiouser and curiouser.
It looks like aliens are making their way to Fortnite if the Foreshadowing Challenges tell us anything about next season. Aliens sound like a welcome change, though my biggest hope right now is an overhaul of challenges and UI. I’m so sick and tired of navigating NPC text bubbles to find challenges each week. It’s messy and annoying and a huge turnoff. Epic used to make challenges so easy to find and now it’s just a disorganized disaster.
In any case, hopefully this helps you complete this pretty straightforward—if bittersweet—quest. Happy hunting, young padawans, and have a great Memorial Day weekend!
Oh, and speaking of Memorial Day weekend, you should definitely play Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for free the next few days. Here’s how.
