Specifically, Mobile Suit Gundam I, Mobile Suit Gundam II: Soldiers of Sorrow, Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space and Gundam: Char's Counterattack will be finally made available on Netflix on June 18.

I’ve already reviewed the Blu-ray releases for the original movie trilogy and Char’s Counterattack, and they all come highly recommended.

Moreover, if you are new to Gundam then starting with the original movie trilogy is probably one of the best places to start.

These movies also cover much of the story arc between Amuro Ray and Char Aznable, which comprises the narrative backbone for most of the Universal Century timeline.

If you are at all interested in the creative history behind Gundam and these movies, then feel free to check out my interviews with Yoshiyuki Tomino, Kunio Okawara and Yutaka Izubuchi.

So if you’ve never seen any of Gundam and have been curious about all the fuss surrounding this long-running anime franchise, then Netflix has you covered this June.
