If you missed out on betting Rombauer to win the Preakness Stakes at 11/1 odds, you have another shot in the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes. Unfortunately, his opening odds are 3/1 in Saturday’s biggest race at Belmont Park. This year’s 153rd running of the Belmont Stakes has four stronger horses from the Kentucky Derby to challenge Rombauer, including the 2/1 favorite Essential Quality.

All those leading contenders - Essential Quality, Rombauer, Hot Rod Charlie, Rock Your World and Known Agenda - will make this year’s race one to watch on NBC with post time at 6:49 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 5.

But before the Belmont Stakes, there are seven other Grade I races that will be part of the biggest day of racing at Belmont Park, and attract one of the biggest betting handle’s of the year. How To Bet $100 On The Belmont Stakes

I’ve been high on Known Agenda since betting him to win the Florida Derby. Now he has more positives on his side for the 1 1/2 mile Belmont Stakes. He’s won three races at 1 1/8 miles, and is bred to go longer as a son of champion Curlin. His current odds offer more value than others, and Known Agenda is trained by Belmont’s best, Todd Pletcher.

“I think he is sitting on a very good race,” Pletcher said this week at Belmont about Known Agenda. “I love the way he is training coming into it.”

Pletcher is at his best getting his horses ready for the 1 1/2 mile Belmont Stakes and “The Test of the Champion.”

Unfortunately, a yet-to-be-named jockey will ride Known Agenda after leading Belmont jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. was injured during a race Thursday and appears to be out for a few weeks. Irad was scheduled to ride Known Agenda, and will miss all of Friday and Saturday’s big races.

A Twinspires handicapper agrees on the Known Agenda pick to win, and another Twinspires handicapper likes speed to hold up and prevail with Rock Your World.

The team at Horse Racing Radar, in collaboration with Guaranteed Tip Sheet, have a Belmont Stakes Day wagering guide full of insight and information you can bet on. They are riding Rock Your World and Essential Quality to the finish line and winners circle.

Another leading racing report from Horse Racing Nation’s Super Screener also rates Known Agenda highly along with Essential Quality. Santa Anita Derby winner Rock Your World has a pace advantage and will get a better trip than in the Kentucky Derby, and he is included in the wagering strategies as well.

I’ll take a stand against Rombauer, and hope Hot Rod Charlie doesn’t win his first Grade I race against this solid quartet or colts.
