For the third week in a row, NCT Dream’s Hot Sauce reigns supreme on South Korea’s list of the bestselling albums. The title debuted in first place, and it has reportedly already sold more than two million copies in less than its first month of availability.
The Gaon Albums chart ranks the bestselling full-lengths, EPs and single albums in South Korea every week, looking at how many copies were shipped to stores.
Coming in behind Hot Sauce are two other projects from bands that are connected to the all-powerful NCT brand, which has now spun off several successful sub-units (or separate, but related musical acts). NCT’s NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 2 and NCT 127’s We Are Superhuman land at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. Both titles have already spent time at No. 1. Just two spots down, another sub-unit, WayV, sees their collection Take Over the Moon return to the top 10 at No. 6.
The loftiest debut on this week’s Gaon Albums chart comes from beloved girl group EVERGLOW, who start their latest single album Last Melody, which features three songs...none of which are called “Last Melody.” The title blasts in at No. 4, matching the act’s previously-set high point. It’s the band’s fifth top 10 effort in South Korea.
Speaking of girl groups, ITZY is back inside the top 10 on the ranking this frame with their recently-released success Guess Who, which peaked at No. 2 just a few weeks ago.
New at No. 7 is Sung Si-kyung’s latest release ㅅ (Siot), which helps the popular performer find his way into the top 10 on the important tally with his first proper Korean album in a decade.
Boy band AB6IX returns to the top 10 on the Gaon Albums chart with their most recent EP Mo' Complete: Have a Dream, which lifted to No. 3 earlier this spring. Loona’s debut EP [+ +] is also back in between Nos. 1 and 10, reappearing at No. 9 this frame. Closing out the highest tier on the tally is OH MY GIRL’s Dear OHMYGIRL, which bolts more than 10 spaces to break back into the top 10 at No. 10.
